First Alaskans Institute (FAI), a 501(c)(3) Alaska Native statewide nonprofit organization, is accepting applications for our Summer internship Program.
The Indigenous Advancement Director contributes to the long-term sustainability and advancement of FAI by growing the financial foundation that supports our work. This position provides the vision and professional skills necessary to oversee the implementation of a comprehensive Advancement Plan that includes strategies and goals for stewarding donor and giving campaigns, writing and administering successful grants, hosting meaningful fundraising events, and growing our endowment and planned giving by building key relationships and partnerships that support the ongoing work of First Alaskans.
The Gyedm si ndzox role supports our work by partnering with the Indigenous Leadership Continuum (ILC) Director to implement leadership development programs that catalyze the power of our peoples at all stages of life. This includes assisting in the coordination and leadership of FAI’s Annual Statewide Elders & Youth Conference, our fellowship programs and our summer internship program. A strong Gyedm si ndzox loves supporting others, requires adaptability and foresight, and is grounded in love of our peoples.
We accept funding applications for the Knowing, Living and Loving Our Ways of Life Support Fund on a rolling basis.
First Alaskans Institute’s Knowing, Living and Loving Our Ways of Life Support Fund was created to support cultural knowledge transference events and activities that physically protect our communities while fortifying our minds, bodies & spirits.
This funding is made available through support from First Alaskans Institute, individual contributors and Wells Fargo. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all funds are allocated. Funds are limited, so we thank you in advance for understanding that we may not be able to fund every applicant or fund every project at the amount requested. Award funds can be retroactive to January 1st, 2022 and must be closed out by December 31st, 2023.
