This is the Office of the Governor, Boards and Commissions web page. On this site you will find a list of active state boards and commissions to which the Governor makes appointments. Through this list you can access fact sheets and rosters for each board, as well as links to individual board web pages. If you are interested in applying for a board, but need more information, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions which includes general information about the board appointment process.
» Alaska Energy Plans
The Task Force was created to develop a long-term Energy Plan for Alaska that will enhance the State’s economic future. This site contains the documents and presentations that came out of the Alaska Energy Policy Task Force meetings.
» Anchorage Boards and Commissions
Established by Municipal Charter or Municipal Code, boards and commissions are groups of local citizens who volunteer. Service Area Supervisory Boards Serve a specific geographical area to oversee local road, fire or recreational services. Members of these boards are elected by their community and must be residents of the service area they represent.

» Alaska Food Cost Survey
The UAF Cooperative Extension Service Food Cost Survey includes fresh, canned and frozen vegetables and fruit, cereals, breads, and crackers, meat and fish, baking ingredients, condiments, tea, coffee, sodas, drink mixes and candy. There are 104 food items in this survey and it is based on a U.S. Department of Agriculture low cost, month long menu for a family of four.

In an effort to assess current retail fuel prices and start tracking longitudinal price changes across rural Alaska, the Division of Community Advocacy conducted a statewide survey of retail heating fuel and gasoline prices in a cross-section of select Alaska communities. This report summarizes fuel survey findings, provides a national perspective of fluxuating fuel prices, and presents a short case-study of increased fuel costs and associated impacts to electrical costs in five rural Alaska communities.
