Elders & Youth Conference Frequently Asked Questions 

Ready to attend the Elders & Youth Conference? We will use an online platform called Whova for our event. You can Download the Whova Mobile App or Access It From the Web Platform on you Desktop!

• How do I view the conference on my computer? Once you register, sign in here using the same email you used to register: https://whova.com/portal/webapp/seyc_202110/sign_up.
  • This link is also available on the Registration Confirmation Email from Whova. We encourage you to bookmark this link for future use so you can find it whenever you like. 
  • We suggest you use the Chrome browser to join the session streaming. Some streaming software may have compatibility issues with other browsers.
• I can’t find my Registration Confirmation Email: First check your junk/spam folder, sometimes they go there. If you still cannot find it, our team can resend you the confirmation email. If you are looking to access the conference on your computer, click here to log in. 
• I’m getting an “Invalid Email” message while attempting to register. Check for any extra spaces after the email, this will cause an email to be interpreted as invalid. 
• How do I use Whova? View the Whova Attendee User Guide. The FAI team has found this extremely helpful.
• How can I view the conference on the Whova App for a smartphone? First, you need to register for the conference here. Then, download the Whova App by locating it in your app store. Make sure to sign up with the same email you used to register. You should be automatically brought to the event page. If it doesn’t appear, click “Find My Event/Conference” and enter “38th Annual Statewide Elders & Youth Conference” into the search bar. If you get a request to enter an invitation code, please email us at [email protected] or call 907-677-1700, and we will send you the code. For security purposes, we cannot post the code online. We apologize for the added inconvenience.
• The “Polls/Chats” box is blocking the video on my phone! There is no other way around this but to turn your phone horizontally into landscape orientation. We have sent Whova a suggestion about this. Note – you may need to unlock your screen orientation on your device to view landscape.
• The Whova App frequently shuts down. If the app frequently closes/shuts down, you may need to update the app in your app store. You may also need to remove and re-upload the app to your device.
• How do I close the Whova “Chat” box on my computer? To close the chat, enlarge your screen to full screen, then you should be able to see the control to close the chat. 
• My Zoom virtual background doesn’t work on my desktop Whova. Unfortunately, Zoom backgrounds do not work on the desktop/computer version of Whova. However, it works on the Whova app on your smart phone or tablet. View the Elders & Youth Conference virtual backgrounds here.
• I can’t log in because I need an Invitation Code. Please email us at [email protected] or call 907-677-1700, and we will send you the code. For security purposes, we cannot post the code online.
