CELEBRATING THE 10TH ANNUAL HOWARD ROCK & TED STEVENS SMOKEHOUSE GALA
First Alaskans Institute (FAI) invites you to join us for the 10th Annual Howard Rock & Ted Stevens Smokehouse Gala being held in the unceded virtual space of our Alaska Native peoples! In this virtually reimagined space, we will host a variety of events, raffles, contests and speakers leading up to the premier livestream and awards ceremony on Saturday, November 20, 2021. By going virtual, we can engage more peoples across Alaska and the country in a variety of cultural activities, that draw upon our peoples’ inherent humor, storytelling, engagement in critical policy issues, and creativity while also lifting up and celebrating those who stand with us in advancing our Native peoples. This year’s Gala provides a unique opportunity to also to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the passage of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA).

Our Auction this year will launch on November 12th and run through 5pm on November 20th. As always, some amazing items are coming in from around the state. We love to uplift our artists by including their bio and sites on the auction as well as offering to return a percentage of the sale back to artists. Your individual fundraising page allows you to share why the work of FAI is important to you and set a goal. The funds you raise will help FAI continue our important work throughout Alaska!
